Thinking of Getting a BBL? What You Need to Know about Brazilian Butt Lifts

As the song goes, “we like big butts, and we cannot lie.” And there’s a scientific reason. According to a study published in Evolution and Human Behavior, many people are attracted to a fuller derriere because “it enhances the appearance of the curvature of the spine.”

The research goes on to say that rear-end curves have been historically incredibly attractive to potential partners—and others who may just be sneaking a peek.

So, if you have been blessed with a well-rounded plump butt, you are one of the lucky ones!

On the other hand, not everyone has what it takes to fill out the rear of a nice pair of jeans. No matter, suffer no more! Cosmetic surgery can change that with a surgery that has become increasingly more popular in the past few years. Learn more about BBLs.

Welcome to the world of BBLs (Brazilian Butt Lifts)

BBLs have been gaining popularity over the past several years. Think back to only a few years ago when the Brazilian Butt Lift might not have even been a term you had ever heard. In 2015-2016, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons reported BBL statistics had begun to surge. In fact, in that one year, butt implants and BBL surgeries were up 20 percent.

Fast forward back to today. The Aesthetic Society’s reported on cosmetic surgery stats announced in 2020 alone, 40,320 buttock augmentations were performed. BBLs are popular and the more people see the results of this cosmetic surgical procedure, the more likely BBL statistics will continue to rise.

Who might consider having BBL surgery?

As just stated, you may have been living with a flat butt and think it’s time to add a bit of pizazz to your silhouette. Others want to undo the wear and tear pregnancy or effects of yo-yo weight gain and loss.

Don’t Forget About Your BBL Recovery Time!

Choosing a recovery nurse is just as important as selecting the surgeon who will perform your BBL. Without proper after care, you won’t get the optimal results from your BBL. CosMed At Home provides in-home highly qualified post plastic surgery recover nurses. Call 973-500-4799 today!

What is a BBL?

A BBL is completed using fat transfer from other parts of your body. (Implants can be used if your doctor doesn’t think you have enough fat to complete the BBL effectively.) Think about it this way: your surgeon will use liposuction to take fat from, perhaps, your abdominal area and inject it back into your buttocks.

While BBL infers there is a “lift” involved in the surgery, the appearance of a lift happens when fat is injected and saggy skin becomes more taught and appears lifted. No skin tissue is removed during a BBL procedure.

The term “boob job,” or breast augmentation, is well-known. A BBL is similar in theory; the result of the procedure leaves you with, well, a bigger bum. The size of the augmentation is up to you and your doctor. You can choose to look like Kim Kardashian or Nicki Minaj if that’s your desire. Or you can plump up just enough to fill out those jeans.

What are the main results of a BBL procedure?

First off, you hopefully will like what you see in the mirror. Loving the look of your body increases confidence and makes you more comfortable in social situations.

Second, the physical results of a BBL are two-fold—truly a win-win. As mentioned, when fat is extracted from your waist, arms, back and/or abdomen to move to your behind, the resulting curves offer an hourglass figure.

Of course, the second benefit is that you come out on the other side of the surgery with the rounded, fuller butt you want.

One more major benefit of a BBL! If you follow your doctor’s orders for post-surgery recovery* (including the use of compression garments and lymphatic massage) you won’t need surgical revisions and your results can last forever. The result of a successful BBL operation is that you’ll get the natural look you desire!
